Turns out my first trip to Europe was pretty much fantastic. Good combo of people, things, and activities, including an epic-for-me bike trip through the countryside near the sea. Very, very nice. I'll be coming back.

Nice blade yesterday, 15 miles unplanned. Good weather, saw some girls chasing seagulls which brought back fond memories... I need to get some proper skates, though. I have a comfortable, slow, broken pair and a less comfortable, fast pair. I want to keep comfortable and fast, and ditch the rest.

Wow, I haven't ridden a bike in the rain in a while. I guess technically it was the "rog", since it was a little rain/fog mix. But it took me straight back to high school, angst-filled bike rides trying to figure shit out. I guess some things don't change. :)

Beautiful day, walk/run in (approx 4 miles), nice, meditative stretching to cool down overlooking the lake. It's amazing what you can hear when you take a little time to listen. Not quite like hearing sunbeams falling, or waves from a couple of miles away, but the background noise that is Ithaca is interesting.

A kid was walking two bikes up the hill... something about the way he was carrying himself made me think the bikes were like dogs and he was taking them out for a little exercise.

Took my first (relatively) long bike commute in today -- very nice, good day for it. Got a random "thanks for wearing a helmet" from an EMT I was passing, which was kind of fun/funny. And now, I need a shower. Bad.
